Meppershall Craft Club – One year on!

Our members meet each Wednesday morning to share a coffee & their crafts. It’s been amazing! Our youngest member is 19 and I am sure Phyllis will not mind me saying that as our oldest member she is in her 90s! We all have made so many friends, it is most definitely something that Meppershall wants.

Our crafts include Water colour painting, Crochet, Jewellery making, Knitting, various Needlepoint Crafts including Embroidery and Black Stitch, Paper Crafts including Card making and Book folding. There have been so many crafts we cannot list them all.

People work on their own crafts, or, as we often do, share crafts with others. One of our latest activities is learning how to make crochet poppies ready for armistice day.

We regularly get between 25 and 30 people attend - In fact due to our high numbers, in January this year we moved into the Oak Hall. We wish to give a huge thank you to Meppershall Village Hall for making this possible. Also thank you to The Walnut Tree Cafe who continue to serve our refreshments by bringing them in on a trolly!

In addition to our crafting each week we share information on many interesting local events & activities. Often this leads to mini group outings! Indeed, many of us visited the Knit & Stitch Show at Alexander Palace, in the summer we attended an Afternoon Tea gathering and in December a Christmas Lunch.

Due to the generosity of our members, we have been able make donations to charities close to our hearts. These have included Alzheimer’s UK, Crisis at Christmas and Addenbrooks Hospital Baby unit.
